My Safari bookmarks were getting out of control — lots of dead links and duplicates. I could find no Safari extension that “checked” bookmarks to help me clean up. I ended up exporting my bookmarks into Google Chrome (which has tons of bookmark checker extensions available), ran the checker, then exported by to Safari. It worked without a hitch.
At this point, I suppose you may be wondering why not just use Chrome? Simply put, I prefer Safari. Chrome used to be our “Go to” app — however it got so big, and seemed to really be a drain on my system’s resources. I really preferred Safari cross-device integration, and, except for the Bookmark Checker issue, seems to be the best browser on our Mac and iOS devices.
